No Greater Friend Than a Sister

There is no friend like a sister
From childhood to adulthood to the golden years.
The weather doesn't matter.
A sister will understand during a cool gentle breeze
Or during a hot rainy thunderstorm!
A sister knows you through and through,
Yet still loves you as a friend…
Though for many, this is difficult to comprehend!


In my life, I am truly blessed with five.
Who have seen me when I was tired and barely alive.
As they will tell you, my patience is sometimes short,
Yet in their wisdom, I will confide and resort.
At times, we have walked the same road…
Be it short, wide, sharp curves, long, rugged, or cold.
The road has never been too bumpy or too long…
You see, their friendship brings peace, comfort, and a fragrance like cologne!


Sisters are very nice to have around,
Even when…at times I have acted like a clown.
Their words of fellowship and encouragement bring much cheer
Because they so willingly lend me their ear.
As children, we fought, scratched, and disagreed…
But now, we have matured, blossomed, and become close friends indeed!
With fond memories, I think of my five sisters often with adoration.
With great consolation and affirmation, I will love them eternally for their inspiration!
