The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) (Part 8, Conclusion)

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) (Part 8, Conclusion)
By Tommy Franks

Like ancient Israel, America has gradually been turning its back on God. While Christians have been awakened to recent voices of religious freedom and Constitutional integrity, roots of anti-Christian socialism are now imbedded in our government and civil society. Why do some US leaders ban God's universal guidelines for law and order? Why do they trade our heritage of freedom for oppressive restrictions and unconstitutional limitations on free speech? Why?

If the ACLU has its way, our court decisions will eventually be based on legal opinions on UN and European models. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg recently announced, "The Supreme Court is looking beyond America's borders for guidance in handling cases on issues like the death penalty and gay rights.” Why? For the past 400 years, we have not looked outside the United States to the United Nations or France to help us in out courts. This is sheer lunacy. Previously, we looked to God for help.

Another Justice said, “The world is growing together through commerce, globalization, the spread of democratic institutions, and immigration to America. It is becoming more and more one world of many different kinds of people ... And whether our constitution fits into the governing documents of other nations, I think, will be a challenge for the next generation."

Nothing will undermine American family values, freedom, and sovereignty faster than reframing our Constitution by the dimming light of European values and global ideology. Do we really want to take a lot of advice from France or Spain or other socialistic European countries? I lived in Europe for eight years. I love to visit Europe. I love their food, villages, ancient structures, rivers, Mediterranean Sea, Bavarian and Swiss Mountains, the people; however, they have a secular progressive and socialistic environment that erodes Christian principles.

Some Americans are saying, “Our world cannot continue to tolerate the old Biblical laws that identify certain behaviors as sin and certain (Modern Age) beliefs as incompatible with Christian faith. We are offended by this teaching.” I say, “Offend them…Offend them”. It is better to be offended here on earth and go to Heaven…and not be offended and go to hell! Am I right or wrong? Let me tell you a little secret: The message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ “offends” people. “And they were offended in Him. But Jesus said unto them, a prophet is not without honor, save in his own country and in his own house” (MT.13:57). “Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Judah, and Simon? And are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at Him” (Mk.6:3).

This is what I do know: Our God reigns. Whether people believe it or not, our God reigns. Period! His warnings to nations are as relevant today as they were thousands of years ago when Israel traded His protection for the futile promise of pagan gods. Their sin led to disaster. Where is America headed today? If the ACLU has it way, we will become a secular-progressive nation with no spiritual values whatsoever.

The one world government prophesied in Revelation 13 is no longer a distant dream. It is taking shape right before our very eyes. What are our children going to do? What are our grandchildren going to do? Nothing is impossible to our Lord and Redeemer. Let us all pray for America and its future. “If My people who are called by My Name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My Face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land” (2 Chron.7:14-15). AMEN!
