The Incredible Secret from a Biblical Perspective (Part 5)

The Incredible Secret from a Biblical Perspective (Part 5)
By Tommy Franks

Thoughts produce things…good or bad. If you can think it in your mind, you will hold it in your hands. “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus” (Phil.2:5). What kind of mind did Jesus possess? Even though we know that Christ was all man and all God, how did He master His mind as a man? He was NOT a negative “thinker”. Everything He did on earth, He did as a man. He gave up His Godhead attributes to be an example to us. He performed miracles and healings as a man. He fed the 5000 plus as a man. He walked on the Sea of Galilee as a man. He died on the cross without the assistance of 10,000 angels. He felt the pain…the agony…the verbal abuse…but He was NOT defeated. His thoughts and actions were in line with God’s 24 hours a day.
He thought about feeding the five thousand. He verbalized to His disciples what He was going to do. He did it. He saw the blind man. He talked to His disciples. He anointed the blind man’s eyes with spittle and clay. He told the blind what to do. The blind man did it. The blind man came seeing.

If you truly want to help someone in your life who is going through a tough time, then focus on what would make their life happier and more productive. It could be a medical condition, financial issue, personal problem, or just an opportunity for you to help the person. Regardless, focus on the positive instead of the negative issues.
Focus on a positive mental attitude. Picture what you want for this person and see if they want the same thing. If so, the battle is half over. "Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven” (Mt.18:19).

Let’s take this a step further. If your family life is in turmoil, it is up to you to create a positive environment that will fix it. If you do nothing, the problem will persist. If you respond in a negative manner, the problem will continue. However, as you begin to think about what it is that you want or desire, your mind will begin to focus on a better relationship. As you focus on your family being healthy and strong, then your family will respond in kind. Begin to see (visualize) your family members in a state of happiness, health, energetic, and full of joy. Believe it. See your family being fulfilled in every area of their lives.

Please do not be concerned with the past. The past is gone forever! You do not have to deal with the past. You live in the “present”. You have an eternal future. You and God are the architect of your future. He knows your future better than you. Every day, every moment…is another chance for you and me to make our lives better. Life is precious. Time is our greatest resource. We need to use it wisely.

Who is ultimately responsible for our lives? We are. Our thoughts and words of yesterday is what brought us to where we are today. Who controls our lives? We do with God’s help. God will never “make” us do anything. He will not force us to do anything. He is a Gentleman. The responsibility for how our lives turn out rests with us…not with our parents…our spouses…our boss…our society or God or the devil. The buck stops with us. We can blame others, but we are the ones who must be prepared for the results.
The Law of Attraction brings you what you think about. Thoughts produce things. Think, ask, seek, knock, and then receive. We are responsible for every single thought that we have. “The thought of foolishness is sin” (Pr.24:9). When we think foolish things, we actually sin.

“Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts” (Ps. 139:23).
God knows every thought we think…good or bad.

“Commit your works unto the LORD, and your thoughts shall be established” (Pr.16:3).
How shall our thoughts be established? By our actions!

“The thoughts of the diligent lead to plenteousness” (Pr.21:5). Now we are getting to the crux (root) of the law of attraction…attracting what you think about. The thoughts of the diligent ones…the hard-working ones…the conscientious ones…the industrious ones…and the attentive ones…will lead to plenty and abundance. Does this verse ring a bell? "The thief does not come except to steal, to kill, and to destroy. I (Jesus) have come that (you) may have life…and that (you) may have it more abundantly” (Jn.10:10).
Think good thoughts. Verbalize it. Believe. Act on your words. Receive. We get what we think about. Therefore, know what it is you want.

Even when your desires have not yet manifested, continue to believe. Be optimistic.
Master the art of being responsible. In today’s society, no one wants to be responsible for his or her own life. We are personally responsible for everything in our lives. Period…no exceptions. When we start blaming others for what has happened or not happened in out lives, we stop the flow of “good things” from materializing in our lives. By assuming responsibility for our actions and creativity, we also are assuming the power to change. When negative thoughts occur, you can consciously drown them out with positive thoughts. Imagine or dream pleasant things…positive things…good things. Expect the best and receive it. (Part 6 will follow.)
