Wars and Rumors of War…The Beginning of the End

Wars and Rumors of War…The Beginning of the End
By Tommy Franks

"And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars...For nation shall rise against nation, & kingdom against kingdom:" (Matthew 24:7)

No generation has witnessed such an escalation of wars as the past three generations in the 20th and 21st Centuries. The Red Cross has estimated that over 100 million people have been killed in wars since 1900. Up until 1914 (World War I), war had never been global.

Since World War II (the war that was supposed to make the world a safer democracy), the world has seen numerous major wars and hundreds of rebellions and revolutions. The death toll in conflicts since the end of World War II is staggering!

In November 1989, the opening of the Berlin Wall symbolized the end of the Cold War between the Superpowers; however, the expected peace did not come as expected.

Wars and rumors of wars have continued to rage around the globe. In 1993 a record of 29 major wars were fought. Nation is still rising against nation…and kingdom against kingdom. The horrors of war are everywhere. It seems as if all “hell” has been unleashed upon certain areas of our planet. We have become numb to the news of wars, atrocities, tortures, mass murder, and rape. This alone is a sign that modern man’s conscience has been somewhat seared with a hot iron. Savagery happens when man is unrestrained by God.

On 16 April 1953, President General Dwight D. Eisenhower said, "Every gun that is made…every warship launched…every rocket fired is…in a sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed…those who are cold and are not clothed.”

The Gulf War alone is costing a half billion dollars a day which is about $350,000 a minute. A fighter plane costs around $25 million each. A Tomahawk missile costs about $1.3 million…an air-to-air missile $800,000…tank shells range from $2,000 to $36,000 each.

Let’s put this in perspective: For the price of a Tomahawk missile, a school full of hungry children could eat lunch every day for 5 years. Within the next ten years, more than 100 million children will die from illness and starvation. Most of these 100 million deaths could be prevented for the price of ten Stealth bombers or what the world spends on its military in two days. The World Health Organization estimates that one-third of the world is well-fed, one-third is under-fed, and one-third is starving.

The war on famine continues. Since you have been reading this article, at least 200 people have died of starvation. Millions more will die this year (2007).

Question: Can the world produce enough food to feed its expanding population? YES! Do we have the technology to prevent most of the world’s hunger? YES!
Some famines are caused by drought or natural disasters; however, children are more likely to starve to death because of war, world government corruption, and economic oppression.

While millions of children die of hunger each year, some nations burn millions of tons of food each year to keep prices high. Famines are largely a result of man's corruption, greed, and unwillingness to care for others.

The war on crime continues. We are apparently losing the war on crime and violence. In the past two decades, violent crime has increased among young people by 10,000%. Today in the U.S., a violent crime is committed every 25 seconds. Every 9 seconds a home is burglarized. A woman is raped every six minutes. Every 25 minutes someone is murdered. Last week-end (48 hours) alone, five people were murdered in our Nation’s Capitol.

The war in our schools continues. U.S. public schools have departed from the faith of our forefathers. In 1963, Bible reading and prayer were officially banned from our schools. Now thousands of these same schools are teaching credited courses in the occult and Satanism. Today, the US has over 200,000 practicing witches…and millions of Americans who dabble in some form of the occult, psychic phenomena, spiritism, demonology, and black magic. Occult book sales have doubled in the last five years.

The occult today is no longer underground. Some of the occult rock videos focus on “open worship” of Satan and hell. Some videos even have the symbols, liturgies, and rituals of witchcraft. These sounds of horror and torment are literally driving some young people insane and seducing them into a life of drugs, suicide, perversion, and hell.

In the Book of Revelation, the Apostle John foresaw that in the last days…the world would turn away from God in order to worship and follow Satan. Such a prophecy seemed unbelievable to previous generations, but not anymore. Witchcraft (occult) is one of the world's fastest growing religions.

The Good News is: The Gospel has been preached to over 4 billion people. Christian churches now exist in all 251 countries of the world. Each year over four billion Gospel tracts and 120 million Bibles are distributed around the globe. This is a good thing. The Bible or portions of it…have now been translated into 2,062 different languages…and is available to 98 percent of the world's population.

The Gospel is also being preached on over 2,000 Christian radio and television stations around the world. In addition, religious programming is now being allowed on thousands of secular stations. Never in the entire course of history has the Gospel been preached to the entire world as it is today. Every nation on the face of the earth today has heard the Gospel as Jesus prophesied they would before the end comes.

So does this mean that we are living in the “End Times…End of the Ages”? Yes!
We are living in very exciting times. Soon global changes will be made. The curtains have been drawn. The last act and scene of the Earth's drama has begun. It will not and cannot be stopped. Whether we like it or not, our lives are being caught up in these last great events. The countdown to Armageddon has begun!

The interpretation of Bible prophecies for the end times have been examined and are not unique. Millions of Christians worldwide (Catholic and Protestant) share concerns, feelings of emotions, and questions. One of the purposes of End Time Bible prophecies is to let the world know what is going to happen in the future so that we will not be taken by surprise when these events occur. This is all part of God's preordained plan.

The best way that anyone can be prepared for the future is to receive Jesus as his/her Savior. He has promised to be us (His children) to protect us…and be our Guide through perilous times. Jesus will give us the strength and courage to face future troubles. He will help us survive until the End. Then He will reward us beyond our wildest dreams in the Heavenly world to come!

The global stage is set for the fulfillment of an awesome vision that many prophets had in common…an event so cataclysmic that it will change the world as we know it now. This will be the final apocalypse…Armageddon!

Even though the world's darkest period of horror and dismay is coming, the Good News is: The brightest day will come as Jesus Christ Himself returns to gather His children to be with Him! Lights, trumpets, thunder, earthquakes, and gigantic meteor showers will all herald this climactic event. God's children who have died throughout the ages will be resurrected in new miraculous bodies…and will burst forth from their graves and ascend to meet Jesus in the air. Living Christians will be transformed as well…and will rise to meet the Lord in the sky. The Bible speaks of the Second Coming of Christ. This will lead to the most glorious and thrilling victory celebration that has ever been held…the great "Marriage Supper of the Lamb" in Heaven.

Do not worry. Jesus will lead His Army to destroy the Antichrist and his one-world empire in the awesome Battle of Armageddon. This great slaughter of the Antichrist and his armies will take place in and around the valley of Megiddo…near Haifa in Israel. It will mark the end of man's cruel rule on earth. Jesus (King of kings and Lord of lords) and His Heavenly Army will forcibly take over the World to rule and reign. The world will then be run the way it should have been from the beginning of Adam and Eve. And so will begin a period of peace, plenty, and true paradise on Earth! Amen!
