Current Event #7: Prophets Ezekiel and Jeremiah clearly establish an era of peace for Israel and her Arab Cousins: Israel has not yet enjoyed a single day of true peace in over 58 years of being a nation. They have maintained full military alert 24/7 for 58 years. Israel has fought five wars with her Arab cousins and undergone hundreds of terrorist attacks. Thousands have been murdered over the years!
· For decades, terrorism was instigated by Yassir Arafat and other terrorist organizations such as Hamas, Hizbollah, Islamic Jihad, El Aska Brigade and others. Their intent was and is to make life so miserable for the Jewish people that they will leave their homeland. There is no way under heaven or hell that they can force the Jewish people to give up and leave! That will not happen.
· Sometimes, people will say, "Return all Palestinian lands." Israel does not occupy any Palestinian land. In fact, Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt occupy Israeli lands. Review Genesis 15:18.
· There has never existed a Palestinian state. Jerusalem has never been the capital of any nation but Israel.
· Fact: The land of Israel was divided by the British and the League of Nations in 1922. Prime Minister Yitsak Rabin confirmed the division by signing the OSLO Accord with Yassir Arafat in 1993. This document allowed Arafat and his Fatah organization to legally return and set up business (terrorists’ activities) in the "West Bank"…which is ancient Samaria and Judea. Not one verse of Scripture allows any people to occupy the "West Bank" but the Jewish descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
· Later, Prime Minister Rabin was assassinated by his own people for allowing Arafat and his terrorists to return to the land of Israel.
· We as Christians should pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Terrorism must cease if peace is to come to the Middle East. All terrorist activity must end.
· The Prophet Ezekiel also established a chronological order for end time events in Israel. Once the peace is in place and absolutely acceptable to all parties, then Russia, Iran, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, India, and their allies will begin to plot against Israel…militarily.
· But don’t worry…God will destroy the enemies of Israel with the most awesome and breathtaking act of His wrath since Noah's flood (See Eze.38 and 39 for the Biblical story).

Current Event #8: Since September 11, 2001 our nation has been at war. No one expected the declaration of war by international terrorists until the World Trade Towers, in New York, were destroyed…and almost 3,000 lives were lost. We are at war! Our enemy is international terror. The terrorists have profiled themselves as radical, fanatical Muslims. Most are Arabs.
· As previously stated, terrorism must be completely defeated in order for the Middle East to have peace.
· Both Jeremiah and Ezekiel prophesied peace. On the other hand, Saudi Arabia has instituted the most hard-core terrorists of all. They have dedicated hundreds of millions of dollars to families who aid the terrorists’ cause. This includes the suicides of young kids. Syria and Iran are heavily involved as well.
· Where does Saudi get its wealth? Take a guess…One word “Oil”. Most of this oil is purchased by American oil companies.
· Why is our nation so dependent on Middle Eastern Oil? The answer is simple. The environmentalists have been given so much power until they interfere with the development of our very own oil supply, expansion, and refineries.
· As Americans, it is time that we speak out. The environmentalists have huge amounts of money. Their shady acts borderline on un-American activity. They have caused our nation to become dependent on oil from those who hate us, but are delighted to get our money…and then underwrite terrorism against us. Does any of this make sense? Does "thirty pieces of silver” ring a bell?
· We will win the war against international terrorism. Peace will eventually come to the Middle East…both for the Jewish and Arab nations. I know it seems impossible, but it will happen because the Bible has predicted it so!
· Events since May 1948 have certainly proven the accuracy of the prophecies in Ezekiel 37. The first fourteen verses reveal the story of the "Valley of Dry Bones."
o The prophecy states that the bones began to come together with a "thundering noise." There was a whole lot of shaking going on…as well as trembling and rattling.
o Once the bones had come together, sinews, flesh and skin covered the bones, but there was no breath or spirit. So the prophet prophesied and breath brought life to the bodies and they lived.
o The dry bones represented Israel's spiritual and national death. Ezekiel said, “They were very dry; no life was in existence.”
o For the past 58 years we have been watching this prophesied process. Israel's return has caused a "great noise" heard around the world. The noise of Israel's rebirth continues to be heard to this day. Seldom is there an evening TV news program in which Israel does not have a major place. The same is true in newspapers and magazines. Feelings regarding Israel run deep…Both those who support Israel (its right to exist and possess the land) and those who are opposed to Israel. Such has been the case since the days of Abraham (over 4,000 years ago). Descendants of Abraham's son, Ishmael and his grandson, Esau (Jacob's twin)…continue their struggle with the descendants of Abraham's son Isaac and grandson Jacob over who owns the land.
o One might ask: "To whom does the land rightfully belong?" The Word of God contains the answer (Gen.12:1-7 and 15:18). Notice…if you will…just how much land the Arab nations now occupy. Why could the other Arab nations NOT designate an area for the Palestinians? The answer is simple. The Palestinians are not wanted by the other Arab nations. Palestinian terrorists have the reputation of wanting what is not theirs and attempting to get it by any means, including terrorism and murder.
o Yasser Arafat (now deceased) did not represent the total Palestinian population. Although his financial aid came from several Arab countries, the leaders of those countries did not want Arafat…or his organization within their borders. These countries knew what havoc would occur if Arafat were allowed in…They did not want Arafat or the Fatah in their country. Period! So they paid him and his thugs to stay out.
o Let me remind you, Arafat's terrorist activity began in Jordan. He and his followers attempted to overthrow King Hussein of Jordan in 1970. The King's military drove them out. Having lost his home, he settled in Lebanon which was in the throes of civil strife at the time. The Lebanese could not keep him out. Wanting to be president of a state or nation, Arafat proclaimed to fight for the liberation of so-called Palestinian lands occupied by Israel. Arafat died a very rich man! The poor people who protected him got nothing!
o Israel has never at anytime occupied Palestinian land. In accordance with Scripture, God gave them the land over 4000 years ago. Let me reiterate. In 1917, the British Balfour Agreement gave Israel the right to the land. This was ratified by the League of Nations in 1922.

Current Event #9: Islam is divided into as many sects and groups as protestant Christianity. The major divisions are comprised of over 750 million Sunnis (people of the customs and traditions of the prophet Muhammad) and of the ones known as the Shiites (300 million…The Party of Ali). The earth currently contains 6.5 billion people. Over one billion are Muslims.
· The car bombs, hijackings, and attacks on Americans and Christians stem primarily from the 300 million Shiites. Within the Shiite faith there are major divisions concerning the prophet Muhammad. Some recognize 12 primary leaders…but others recognize only 7. There is a lot of confusion and disarray.
· Furthermore, the word assassin originated in the faith of the Ismailiis. They brought a revival of murder as an instrument of policy. Their literal interpretations of the Koran authorized the incapacitation of high-ranking figures for the spread of the Islamic faith (11th-15th centuries). Jihad is what it is called today.
· During the 18th century there was a charismatic Muslim preacher by the name of Muhammad Ibn Abd Al-Wahab. Al-Azhar university was also created by the Ismailiis and issued decrees authorizing the murder of any persons that were opposed to the religion of Islam or spoke evil of one of its leaders. (Presently, the decrees are known as “fatwas”…like the one issued by Khomeini in the year of his death against Salman Rushdie, author of the satanic verses.)
· Muhammad Ibn Al-Wahab was a puritan figure that preached for years with very few converts. He made an alliance with a tribal chieftain named Muhammad Ibn Saud that they might propagate Islam in the Arabian Peninsula. This alliance proved deadly to all peoples of any other faiths. Wahhabism with the help of Ibn Saud conquered all of Arabia and today all of the clerics of Saudi Arabia are descendants of Muhammad Al-Wahab and the security forces are of Ibn Saud.
· Saudi is the strictest country in the world as it pertains to disciplined Islamic orthodoxy. Their government kills at will all transgressors of Koranic teaching. More funds are issued from Saudi Arabia for the spread of the Islamic faith than any other Muslim nation. This is the nation in which Osama Bin Laden was raised. He was instructed in these schools. He sat in the mosques of this nation hearing the sermons against American imperialism and what he heard is now being echoed through his very own lips. He sees the lapses that have occurred in Islamic jurisprudence and orthodoxy and he believes that he is the new imam (Chief Islamic leader of the Arab world) of Wahhabism. Osama Bin Laden has called for an Islamic resurgence and revolution. His Wahhabi faith uses murder for instrumental purposes. His goal is to adhere to the Koranic verse that allows for Jihad and the spread of the Islamic faith. He sees himself as the architect of a new Muslim empire that Allah will cause to prevail over all the religions of the world. This is the reason the Taliban in Afghanistan patterned their faith after the mold of Wahhabism (the state religion of Saudi Arabia).
· Question? Why do they hate us so much?
· What have we done to them?
· Bottomline: We are involved in a war of Good against evil.
· Jesus said, “When everything is ready, I will come and get you…so that you will always be with Me where I am” (Jn.14:3). This incredible day will come!
· I believe He will do what He said He would do! AMEN!
