The Incredible Secret from a Biblical Perspective (Part 2)
By Tommy Franks
The "Law of Attraction" is indeed The Incredible Secret. Our thoughts attract to us what we think about. Our thoughts create our reality and destiny. The Law of Attraction will bring blessings into your life. It will alter your realities of life and open huge doors of infinite possibilities! Any level of wealth can be yours. Your life can be enriched with fulfilling relationships. You can spend your time doing those things you love…and experience abundance that only yesterday seemed impossible. The "Law of Attraction" is universal. It is based upon Biblical principles. It will work in any country in the world at any socioeconomic level. The Law of Attraction is full of energy. God is full of Energy. Energy attracts energy. God wants the very best for you because He created you. Be patient. The Law of Attraction works…and has been working since the eons of time. Continue to have positive thoughts of what you want. Get ready for it. Prepare for it. Never give up on your dreams and what you desire in life. Think about it. Verbalize it. Remember this: God never did anything in Scripture until He had said it. Then He did it. Read Genesis 1. The Law of Attraction works because God is infinite and unlimited in His power, attributes, and resources.
Never let your emotions be led by external distractions. If you do, you may become frustrated and want to give up. This will only attract more frustrations. Frustrations normally begin when there is a basic lack of trust that the Law of Attraction is working.
As we develop trust and faith, our desires come to pass more quickly. Never say that you cannot afford something. With time, space, and positive thoughts and focus, you can afford anything that the Father has to offer. Never feel as if you do not deserve something. You deserve anything the Father has created or will create. Do not resist the gifts of God. He created you for greatness and great things.
Watch what you think. Guard your thoughts. Your thoughts will eventually become words. Choose your words carefully. Your words will become actions. Your actions will become habits. As you maintain your habits, they will become your character. Develop your character with goodness, integrity, and great things…and it will become your destiny.
"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock and it will be opened to you” (Mt.7:7). Some folks will automatically reject anything to do with positive thinking. Some people are too proud to ask. Some are too proud to seek (search for). Others are too proud to knock. Yet, others are too proud to receive. If you are in one of these categories, please do not choke on the chicken bones. Enjoy the chicken, but please spit out the bones. Thank you. The proof of what I am writing is in the pudding. The point is: We get what we focus on in this life. We get the types of experiences that we consistently think about. We will get (receive out of life) what we expect to receive and what we believe we will receive. Whatever we think about and believe in…is what we will attract. If you go out into the traffic and look for red cars, you will find a lot of red cars. If you go out into the traffic and look for green cars, you will find a lot of green cars. If you think that today will be a lousy day, it will be. If you focus on unpaid bills all the time, you will continue to have a lot of unpaid bills. Whatever you think about, the laws of the universe put into motion by God…will attract those things to you. Whatever you believe will be validated. If you think you have big problems, you do. Think lack and it will be attracted to you. Think abundance and enjoy life.I remember in 1977 when I bought my first Mercedes Benz. I had been thinking about owning a Mercedes for a long time. I talked about it. I conceived it in my mind. I believed that I would have one in a short time. I did. From that moment, I started believing in the Law of Attraction. It works. Since then, I have personally owned over three dozen Benz’s. They are great automobiles and I love to drive them.
The ironic thing is this: The Law of Attraction works whether you think positive or negative thoughts. Of course if you think negative, you will attract negative things or negative people to you. This is why the rich-get-richer…and the poor-get-poorer. In life, we automatically get more of what we already have because we think more about it. As the rich make a lot of money, they spend a lot of thoughts imagining how they will do even better…and they do. If you look for it and you expect it, then you will most likely succeed…and get more of it. However, if you spend your energy and time on regretting or resenting what you don't have or how difficult life is to you…and you begin to react negatively to your problems, you will attract more of the same. So how do we change our direction? First, we must decide to change our thoughts. Second, we must decide to believe in God’s laws concerning “As a (man) thinks in his heart, so is he”. Positive thinking is good, but it is much more. We must also “feel” what we believe…feel it from within. Third, we need to start saying some good affirmations. As we believe what we feel and what we are saying, we begin to act accordingly. Some people say that it is all “faith”. Some say that it is all “feeling”. Others say that it is all “hope and love”. I believe that it a mixture of hope, faith, feelings, love, positive thoughts, and follow-on actions.
We attract what we believe…and what we sincerely feel on a consistent basis. In order to change and to change our circumstances, we must keep going in a new direction long enough for it to actually manifest itself. Over the past 35 years as I have taught these principles, I have never found anything to contradict the “Law of Attraction”. As a counselor, I have learned that some people do not want our advice or counsel. They say they do, but their actions say otherwise. But that is okay because a lot of people do seek our advice and want to be more successful with fewer failures. The only workable approach to personal change is “to want to change” and then believe that you can. Change is inevitable! Personally, in the past, I have found that “change” can be difficult. When everything was going my way, change was extremely easy…But if I was having a “melt-down” or pity party, change was the last thing I wanted…Change always comes…one way or the other.
